Bailey and Crawford's Blog

So, why do we have a blog? For us, it's a great way to keep friends and family, especially those who are out of town, up to date with all that is going on with our adorable children, Bailey and Crawford! Both kids will get this blog printed out into books. Much better than a regular old baby book, right?!

3 for 3

although i normally despise change, we have been praying for 3 big life changes throughout the past year. as of right now, we are officially 3 for 3!!!! all occurred within the past 2 1/2 months in this order:
1) billy accepted and started a new job that thankfully, does not require him to travel
2) we found out i was pregnant
3) we just closed on a new house (as in less than 2 hours ago)!

so, thank you god, for all of our answered prayers!!!!!!!
and thank you to all of the people in my life who have had to endure my sometimes seemingly endless complaining while i was getting some major lessons on how to wait patiently on god's timing :)

Bailey's new favorite

uncle adam has recently been awarded the title of bailey's current favorite person! she just absolutely loves him and thinks he is probably the funniest person alive.
thanks adam for spending so much time with bailey while we were in little rock :) i know she can't wait to see you again!

Such a big girl

bailey and i spent the past several days in little rock at my mom's house. while we were there, bailey slept for the very first time in a big girl bed all alone! she loved it! we started with just taking one nap there and she did so well, that we just kept on going.
as you can see, i put pillows all around her bed. however, the very first night, bailey did fall out of bed. thankfully, she wasn't hurt or anything, just upset like she should be. i would be pretty startled too if i fell a distance of almost my height out of a strange place in the pitch black of the night. a bedrail was purchased and put together the next morning and the joy that comes with sleeping in a big girl bed lived on throughout our visit.
now, bailey is anxiously awaiting our big move into the new house so she can have a big girl bed of her very own.

God??

bailey and i were outside yesterday letting boss do his business when we overheard a man who was in the parking garage across the street talking. we could not see him, so here's what bailey said......

bailey: "mommy, is that god talking?"

me: "no, that's not god talking. actually bailey, i've never heard god talking out loud before."

bailey, laughing like i am an idiot: "god does talk mommy!"

me:"i know he does, but i've just never heard him."

bailey:"well, god talks to me."

me: "what does he say?"

bailey: "god says he loves me. so does jesus."

how true, my sweet little girl :)

Easter morning

easter morning was a lot better received this year. bailey woke up to about 4 dozen candy filled eggs "hidden" throughout her room.

in true bailey form, she would pick up each egg, strain to open it up, admire what was inside, ask to immediately eat what was inside, carefully put the egg back together and plop it into her basket before moving onto the next egg. needless to say, it made the egg hunting process last quite a bit longer than it does in the competitive world of public egg hunts.

there was also a lovely pink sparkly my little pony, some desperately needed new kid song cds and a beautiful assortment of new big girl panties in bailey's easter basket this year. she was pretty excited. our great morning was continued at church and then it was off to hunt even more eggs with the cousins. pictures coming.

Watermark egg hunt

bailey's 2nd egg hunt of the season was at our church.

bailey had fun exploring the new playground with her friends :)

Egg hunt with Daddy

billy took bailey to an egg hunt while i was helping out with apartment life. it was her first big egg hunt of the season and despite the concerned looks on her face, i was told she had a great time.

although there were several different treats to gather from the ground, bailey opted to only pick up these sugary marshmallow eggs that most adults, including myself, find disgusting. bailey, don't be mad at your daddy, but he ate most of them for you.

more catching up to come.

Why, hello there!

please excuse my recent absence. we have been sick sick sick sick, which does not mix well with being in the first trimester. i cannot describe how horrible last week was, but we are all better now and that's all that matters.
i probably won't be updating very frequently until i enter into the promise land that is the second trimester. right now, i sleep while bailey naps and i spend the rest of the time just trying to keep up with the regular weekly mom/house chores. billy has been helping out as much as he can, but he has also been busy at work. so, my apologies in advance. plus, i really doubt you are interested in reading about how terrible and awful my particular first trimester symptoms are, although they NEED to be documented since i apparently forgot most of this stuff from last time. as of right now, i feel as though this is probably my last pregnancy because i just don't see how i could handle all of this again and have another child to care for. it's just really hard.
so, anyway, that's what is going on around here.
oh, and we found a different house and are under contract but there will be no celebrating until the deal is final and we have keys in our hands. if all goes well, that will happen at the end of this month.
i hope to post some random pics, as well as some from easter, at some point in the next few weeks.
