Bailey and Crawford's Blog

So, why do we have a blog? For us, it's a great way to keep friends and family, especially those who are out of town, up to date with all that is going on with our adorable children, Bailey and Crawford! Both kids will get this blog printed out into books. Much better than a regular old baby book, right?!

Can I get a maaaaay-men!

this story has absolutely nothing to do with these pictures at all, except that they both exemplify how cute bailey is.

last sunday, we all went to double daves pizza for a dinner buffet (such a nice treat! seriously!) . before crushing an incredible amount of pepperoni rolls, stromboli and pizza (blueberries, cheese, bread, and tomatoes for the bear), we stopped to bow our heads and give thanks. it's such a sweet feeling to hold a soft, chubby little outstretched hand in my right hand and a big, strong manly-man hand in my left. as tradition goes, we always end our prayers with an amen and bailey has decided to join us. she lets out an enthusiastic "maaaaaaaaaay-men" at the end with a big grin on her adorably round little face in her signature loud voice. bailey has just started doing this and like almost everything she does, i find it just way too cute! during this particular evening, bailey initiated 4 more mid-dinner prayers that ended happily with a "maaaaaaaaay-men".

Take 2 (or more) necklaces and call me in the morning

these lovely photos were taken a few weeks ago when bailey and i endured our first simultaneous stomach bug. you can just tell by looking at her that she doesn't feel good. pictures of me coming soon (ha!!!). however, we survived, all thanks to a loving daddy who stayed home from work to take care of us :)

these necklaces have provided more entertainment than all of her christmas toys combined!! seriously, on more than one occasion, she took them on and off, gathered them in a pot, dumped them out of the pot and carried them all around the house for an entire hour! an HOUR, people! that's like an eternity in toddler time. she also accessorizes dolls, bears and real life people and is now quite experienced with the whole putting them on and taking them off action. it's been really fun to watch her become a little person! we are just loving our little boo bear more and more every day :)
side note: our home computer still not fixed (hence the lack of blogging and general electronic communication) and it may be worse than originally expected. please pray that we don't lose the photos from july until december as i got lazy and didn't burn them onto a cd. it's it absolutely awesome when you get to learn lessons the hard way?! for the second time?!

Just in case you forgot, she's still a girly girl

these were taken shortly after we arrived home from our christmas adventures with my family. check out that profile!! i just love her round tummy :)

since i take pictures of the boo all the time, she has become aware of the camera and how it works. now, whenever i take her picture, she runs back to me so she can see it displayed on the back. as you can see in a couple of these pictures, bailey sometimes doesn't wait until the actual picture is taken before rushing back to check her cute self out on the back of the camera.

and, yes, that is a princess wand in her hands and no, it totally isn't age appropriate. i keep worrying that she will fall on it and poke her eye out, but she just loves it so much (thank you so much for making me write that embarrassing line, for her beloved wand now rests in the trash that is in the very cold garage).

my, what fun a mommy can have with a little girl's pink tutu!! i thought these pictures with the tutu on bailey's head like a veil were kinda funny although i don't think they are especially flattering of my little beauty. they don't even look much like her to me.

finally, on a completely different note, our computer is broken and i have no idea how long it will take to get fixed (i am on billy's work computer). i have soooooo much i want to blog about, but i guess it will just have to wait. just pray that our hard drive can be saved so we don't lose all of our pictures from july until now (yikes!)!

hi mamaw!!

And the shopping continues

after our visit in oilily and dinner at p.f. chang's (bailey loved the dumplings), we headed out to the car. bailey insisted on pushing her own stroller and continued to be fascinated by what different stores had on display.

she picked up this box of lancome products from the bottom shelf and started saying "da-DA!, da-DA!" because she knows who to go to when she really wants something.

we convinced her to step away from the face products and almost made it out the door without another stop. that is, until bailey saw this dazzling display of men's cuff links. she walked around the circular display touching every one of them while exclaiming "ooooooh" until she was back at her favorite ones, a rectangular golden pair with some orange designs in the middle (you can sort of see them, the first full pair on the bottom right).

ahhhh, yes, i think it's safe to say bailey's daddy is in for it when it comes to shopping :)

Natural born shopper......Daddy beware

while my mom was in town for a visit (woo-hoo!), we did what we always do.....some sort of "project" and shop, shop, shop! this time, the project was our bedroom and it looks soooooo awesome!!! but i digress, you didn't come here to read about me, you came for the baby, i know, i know.

so, all three of us girls went straight to northpark from the airport. bailey was so funny and cute, wanting to push her own stroller around the mall!!
then, one of the cutest things happened. there we were, following bailey's lead when all of a sudden, something obviously spectacular catches her eye. something so enticing and so beautiful that bailey leaves her beloved stroller right there in the middle of the mall and runs into a store. this dress seemed to be calling her name as exclamations of "wwwhhhooooaaa" and "ooooooooooooh!" were repeated over and over again. she just kept touching the different buttons and designs on the dress and carrying it around the store.

i guess you kinda had to be there, but my mom and i found this quite amusing. she was just drawn to that dress!!!! i don't even think i've ever come across something that i liked so much it made me stop dead in my tracks and race over to take a closer look. too bad it was $139 which is just insane, if you ask me.

What do you think of Bailey's new 'do?

A glimpse into Bailey's second Christmas

wow, there is just so much to write about!!! first of all, i'm waiting to get mom's pictures since mine didn't turn out all that well. anyway, we all had such a great christmas!!!! bailey loved opening and delivering presents!!! and, she was a very gracious receiver, stopping to play with each new toy for a few minutes before opening another (and sometimes saying her version of thank you).

apparently bailey was an extremely good girl this year and got lots of cool new things. however, the favorite gift award goes to uncle adam (aa-uum, with a head nod) who gave her this drum with lots of musical instruments that she played and played and played with.

however, it almost goes without saying, but the best part about christmas was getting to share bailey with our family. she really is doing new things each day and it's so much fun to have loved ones around to experience the joy she brings by simply being her. bailey is really into repeating words right now, telling us what dogs, cats and santa says and, of course, still loves to be chased around the table by uncle adam. she is a pro at pointing out the parts of her face and showing us her cute, extra round tummy (and sometimes our own not as cute, extra round tummies). she sings, dances and has the most precious little laugh, which is most definitely our favorite gift :)
