Bailey and Crawford's Blog

So, why do we have a blog? For us, it's a great way to keep friends and family, especially those who are out of town, up to date with all that is going on with our adorable children, Bailey and Crawford! Both kids will get this blog printed out into books. Much better than a regular old baby book, right?!

Merry early Christmas Mommy!!!

this year, along with the numerous other presents bailey regularly makes for me each day, she also gave me the gift of spending an extra hour with just her in the mornings.

i can't complain much, though, because it's not been too early and i do love spending time with that little girl. oh, and i have taken a nap almost every day which has just been awesome :)

more pics and christmas stories to come after we recover from the festivities......and the sales.

Does this mean Bailey would tolerate one of those pretty headband thingies?

like i've been mentioning lately, bailey has just become more and more fun! we have been playing silly games a lot and she has been such a good sport about some of the ridiculous things her mommy finds a little too funny. like wearing a do not disturb sign headband thing on her head.

My little girl

ummmm.....hi, when did this happen? my precious baby is no longer a little baby, she is turning into a little girl.

a little girl who likes to spin and twirl in her dresses. a little girl who picks up this pink flower bow each morning and will hold it to her head until i put it in her hair. a little girl who wants to carry mommy's purse all around in house while trying to talk on mommy's cell phone and bending mommy's sunglasses. a little girl who will sing with a look of somber concentration in her highchair (think of any major pop princess, picture her expression and imagine it on my sweet little girl's face). a little girl who loves sparkley, pretty things. aka.....a little girly girl :) (yes! i did it, all that pink clothing paid off!)

What bailey would do all day long if her mother REALLY loved her

bailey's favorite game involves me chasing her around some piece of furniture, mainly the dining room table or the coffee table in the formal living room.

another variation of this game includes bailey going around and around and around some table and me "jumping out" and "surprising" her. that's what i do when i am feeling especially lazy. my jeans would like you to know that i've been that way since thanksgiving. and check out her cute christmas pjs!!! thanks grandma (aka, ya-maw), i love them!!! not quite as much as my bo$$ shirt or a dress, but definitely right up there :)

These are a few of my favorite things

bailey wearing four of her favorite things:
mommy's sunglasses,
her great grandma's necklace,
a beautiful paci,
her new pink bo$$ shirt

I have a doctor's note

we have all been sick this past week and weekend, which is why there has been no blogging. the biggest wimp of all time (aka, me) even opted for a SHOT in the behind while at the doctor's office on sunday. now, you have to feel pretty bad to go for THAT!!
anyway, i hope to return to blogging soon. getting rest, accomplishing the normal daily activities and preparing for christmas have eaten up all of my time lately.
i just realized i did take a couple of pictures. i believe this one captures the moment (notice the necklace).
more later.

Grandma and Grandpa

i am so behind on blogging! here are some sweet images of bailey in grandpa's lap during thanksgiving. at this age, it really is something special when bailey will curl up with someone other than mommy and daddy :)

and i don't know if you can see it or not, but bailey is wearing one of grandma's necklaces. it is clear and sparkely and she loves it! bailey will walk proudly all around the house with it around her neck and entertain herself by taking it off and on. i know this would make grandma smile :)

We're not exactly snow excited

it snowed here in texas last tuesday and i haven't had any time to write about it at all!

as you can see, bailey wasn't exactly thrilled with her first true snow experience. i was trying desperately to get a picture for our christmas card and it just was not going to happen.

for starters, notice what she is wearing. the poor child had no coat since i had left it at my mom's house the weekend before. she's wearing a wool raspberry sweater brought back lovingly from another country that is a size 6 months. yes, that's 6 months, a good 8 month too small. plus, ever tried to take a good picture of a one year old by yourself? although no pictures were deemed beautiful enough to put on our card, these do capture the experience. however, i did leave out the several pictures where she is either crying, making a strange face, turning her head away from me or lunging for me.

Pictures that didn't make the cut for the Christmas card this year
